Formerly, eight families at Sreevarahom looked after the affairs of the temple. In due course the responsibility was entrusted with Sreevarahom Nair Karayogam, one of the oldest social organisations in the city. Now the daily poojas and annual festivals are held on traditional lines and supervised by the Karayogam.
